An excellent place to watch butterflies, the bamboo covered stream also holds good diversity of dragonflies and not to mention bird diversity. |  Savri WaterfallOne of the most beautiful waterfall around, it can be reached via Netravali as well as from the road that leads to Verlem village.  Sonal WaterfallOne of the less explored waterfall which is approximately 5-6 km from the village Verlem the waterfall is blessed with wonderful pool where you can take a dip after an exausting descent. The forest around is a butterfly and bird lovers paradise. |  Heritage tripThe village has many temples, with Ravalnath being the main deity. There are temples of Chandreshwar - Bhoothnath, Mahishurmardini, Kalika, Shantadurga within a radius of 500 m. there is aslo a dev temple who is supposedly the protecting deity of the village. within a trek of 2 to 2.5 km lies the Sacred grove of the village, the Paika-pann or Bhui-jun. this is one of the largest sacred grove in the state and is worth a visit. |  Folk Songs and DanceGoa is blessed with the cultural diversity and folk diversity. Verlem village itself will give you chance to experiance diverse variety of folk dance and songs. Most of these forms are performed during Shigmo festival which celebrates nature and tradition. Guest can seat back and get mesmerised with the rythmic beats of the folk dance forms like Dhalo, Khel, Goph.  AgriculturePaddy is the main field crop in the village and primarily cultivated in the winter season. Cashew is the main cash crop and one can participate in the harvesting during the month of March - May. The distillation of the famous Feni by the local method is an intriguing process. while the first distil is called Hurrak, the Feni is the second distil. Guests can help the community in tending, harvesting and picking the fruits and ofcourse the joy of eating hand-picked fruits is beyond description. |

Paddy cultivation, cashew collection and processing, vegetable cultivation, dairy farming, fruit processing. This is a season based and the guest will be exposed to various agro-based activities based on the season that he/she is visiting. Kindly refer the Crop Calendar to choose the season to visit.
Temples & Traditions
Walk around the village, visit to temples , explore and learn about sacred grove in the vicinity of village , participation in local festivals, experiance traditional folk dance and songs.
We recommend a stay of 2-nights/3-days for a meaningful experience. Only vegetarian food will be served but you can speak to your host for non-vegetarian food at an extra cost. Outside the package trips can be organized at an extra cost and depending on availability of local resource person. The initiative is aimed at giving the “guest” an insightful experience but not at the cost of the daily life of the communities. Remember you are “guest” and not a “tourist”.
